• Mercedes-Benz just showed off some improvements to the 2025 EQS car, such as a bigger battery pack and a new front end.
  • The improved EQS’s range should be more than 10% longer thanks to its bigger 118.0-kWh battery pack and updated regenerative braking software.
  • Mercedes said that the greatly changed 2025 EQS will hit stores later this year, but prices will be known then.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS electric luxury car is about to start its fourth model year. It will have a new battery pack and a redesigned front end, which will increase its already impressive range. For the first three years of its use, the EQS had a 108.4-kWh battery pack. In the 2025 model, however, the battery pack has been increased to 118.0 kWh.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Shows Off New Look and Longer Range for 2025

Longer Range

Mercedes-Benz was asked by Invoice Pricing for new EPA numbers, but those won’t be available until close to launch. Our real-world highway test at 75 mph got an amazing 350 miles per gallon from the last EQS we ran.

Mercedes thinks that the bigger battery and the better regenerative braking software will increase the longer range of the electric car. Using the more flexible European WLTP range numbers, Mercedes found that the driving range would go up by more than 11%. Based on what that means in the United States, the 2025 EQS car should be able to go about 390 miles.

Style and basic elements that are more modern

Mercedes also changed the EQS’s front end and made it possible to drive farther. Even though it’s not clear at first, the better design is worth mentioning. In earlier models, the front had a sea of Mercedes-Benz stars. Now, there is a more classic grille design with a black background and gold slats that stand out. The Mercedes-Benz crest, which used to be flat, has been changed with a more traditional standing-star hood ornament.

Mercedes has made some changes to the 2025 model’s interior to make it more comfortable and stylish for people in the back seats. The piping and stitching on the back seat cushions are now made of nappa leather, and the climate control vents on the B-pillars have chrome highlights. If more is needed for people with extra cash, they can add the Executive Interior package and the Pinnacle trim. The back seat in this package can lean up to 38 degrees, and the front passenger seat can be folded forward to give the person in the back more space. We will have to wait a little longer for updated prices and specs for the 2025 EQS, but Mercedes has announced that the slightly changed car will start showing up in stores later this year.
