The first official picture of Mercedes’s new electric SUV with the AMG brand has been posted. After the electric four-door GT, the high-performance SUV will be the second model built on the new AMG.EA platform. Mercedes has announced that the full-size EV SUV is “entirely in-house” designed, featuring the AMG.EA architecture with axial-flux electric motors and advanced battery technology. Mercedes-AMG is getting ready to release two fast electric cars. The company based in Affalterbach released the first public picture of its next SUV model today, along with a four-door GT that was talked about earlier this year. The new AMG.EA technology will be used to build both of these high-performance electric cars. One picture shows a prototype of the full-size SUV disguised and moving on a divided road. The design doesn’t look as jelly bean-like as Mercedes’ other electric SUVs, like the AMG EQE53, but it does look like it would be easy to slip on. The upcoming electric cars are likely to look like the Mercedes Vision AMG concept, which has a curved body and bright lights. Of course, the SUV’s strong camouflage makes it hard to tell what many of its features are. Mercedes-AMG said the new high-performance SUV would be the second car built on the AMG.EA platform when it was first hinted at in November. Being made “entirely in-house,” it will be AMG’s first SUV. Electric motors with axial flux and new battery technologies are also helpful. These motors are better for packing and have more power density than regular radial-flux motors. The AMG four-door GT will have the same gear for the first time when it goes on sale sometime next year as a 2026 model. The AMG EV SUV, whose name has yet to be released, is also being developed similarly. It is expected to come out soon after the car has started winter testing in Northern Sweden.
