The 930 TAG Turbo, a truly unique creation, stands as one of the most intriguing Porsche cars to date. The long-standing rumor of a Formula One-powered 911 has finally come to fruition, and the world is about to witness an even greater fleet of these marvels. The new models promise enhanced performance and a driving experience like no other.

The first Porsche 930 TAG Turbo, a product of a unique collaboration between McLaren’s Formula One team and Porsche, was born in the 1980s. The strength of Renault’s turbo engines led to the development of a distinctive 1.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which found its testing ground in the 911 Turbo. This engine, funded by TAG and hence named after it, marked the birth of the 930 TAG Turbo.

More Porsche 930 TAG Turbos with 625-horsepower F1 engines will be available

Lanzante, who works with McLaren and won Le Mans with an F1 GTR, chose a few years ago to limit the production run of the TAG Turbo and bought the last few engines. The newest one, called the TAG Championship, will be shown for the first time at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Their F1 engines, which are used in Grand Prix races, are said to have been improved for driving on the road with Cosworth’s help. They now have titanium turbochargers, better cooling, and internals that have been rebuilt. The old version had 503 horsepower, but now it has 625 horsepower, and the engine can now rev all the way up to 10,250 rpm. It should be able to go faster than 200 mph with a six-speed manual transmission from a 993 that has been changed and given new ratios.

It will also get to you quickly because its shell is made of carbon fiber, and the inside has been slightly changed. The roll cage and Recaro back seats may still be there, but the changes are thought to have removed about 880 pounds, bringing the dry weight down to 2,028 pounds. I have taken bigger dumps before.

For a project this big, style cues like the steering wheel and wheels that look like they came from a McLaren MP4/2 are fitting. The paint job is based on the helmet that Alain Prost wore in 1985 when he won one of the three driver championships that the three TAG Championships recognize. There are only three left, and it’s hard to think that someone still needs to claim them. How much does it cost? Please move quickly. It would not be nice to ask.
