The 2023 Nissan Frontier is reliable, but many new midsize trucks could replace it. Nissan, however, has a safety plan. Emphasizing its old-fashioned, classic-truck features may help. It might sell retro-style packages it previously manufactured but never marketed. When it was still new, Nissan showed off several variants of its single truck, the Frontier. Project 72X and Project Hardbody, inspired by the Datsun 720 and D21 Hardbody, revived classic Nissan and Datsun trucks. The 72X stood out with its sports bar and white steel wheels that resembled 1980s pickups. The revised Hardbody had a bed tire, custom-milled triangular alloy wheels, and throwback graphics. These pairings are excellent since the Frontier only offers a few wheel options. However, Cody Vella tweeted that Nissan has done nothing with them. It’s time to capitalise on truck nostalgia since dealers have successfully marketed their retro-styled products. Jeep’s Jurassic Park sticker pack proves you can make much money by doing nothing. Even if it were an expensive special edition, triangular wheels would improve it. It suits the Frontier’s attitude and history. Like Nissan’s most significant automobiles, it’s a little, old-school truck. Toyota borrows from the past for the 2024 Land Cruiser. Nissan Frontier though, could join the gold rush early.
