Ford Mustang GTs make the finest V8 road noises. It needs more tools to go off-roading in Utah. Doing so may require a tow sooner than expected. Matt Wetzel of Matt’s Off-Road Recovery uploaded a YouTube video showing how difficult this situation is. Hertz provided a Shelby Mustang GT-H for off-roading in Utah. Mud immediately covered the low-slung power vehicle. Thankfully, it wasn’t one of Hertz’s rare, pricey GT-500 Hs with 900 horsepower. Mustang GT with cosmetic packages and Borla exhausts are GT-Hs. It was very scraped, and the exhaust was possibly snagged on a big rock in the back. Reversing the car may have caused further harm. Wetzel starts his comeback smartly. He ties the hitch’s tow rope around his Jeep’s solid rear axle. This lowers the pull point, protecting the stranded car’s bumper. Since Hertz’s Mustang doesn’t have a tow hook up front, Wetzel uses the front frame on the first try. The Mustang had to be hauled out of the sand, but it was easy. Utah two jobs conclude the film. Wetzel skids a Dodge RamCharger out of the lake while his crew frees a Ram. Whether rented or not, don’t drive the Mustang on soft sand. Hertz hopefully returned the driver’s payment quickly.
