In 2023, only one Ferrari F8 Tributo was made. The drop-top F8 Spider is still being made. A Ferrari official told C&D that the 2023 F8 coupe was made for Ferrari North America, a company branch that sells cars in the US, Canada, and South America. That may be a planned request. There’s also the possibility that it was just bad luck. The 2023 Ferrari F8 Tributo is a one-of-a-kind mid-engine Italian sports car that only one can own. A spokesperson for Ferrari said that the company let one F8 Tributo from the 2023 model year leave Maranello before it stopped making the 710-hp coupe. Since Ferrari is still making the drop-top F8 Spider, the focus on the coupe makes sense. In other words, the F8 is still alive and well even though it has a hardtop. When we asked a business official about the F8 Tributo made for 2023, he said the car was made for Ferrari North America, the part of the company that serves the American, Canadian, and Latin American markets. If the buyer didn’t ask for any options that would make their 2023 F8 Tributo stand out from the standard 2020, 2021, and 2022 cars that came before it, likely, this Ferrari isn’t exceptional. The 2023 F8 has the same 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and seven-speed automatic transmission as the F8s that came before it. The F8 Tributo can go 211 mph and 2.7 seconds to 60 mph with these parts. Even if the only thing that makes a car unique is a stamp on the VIN plate, there is something to be said for owning a six-figure car that is one of a kind. It also helps that the F8 Tributo is the last Ferrari mid-engine coupe with a V-8 engine. Since Ferrari stopped making the F8 Tributo, the gasoline-electric V-6 296GTB has been the most affordable mid-engine coupe it makes. With 819 horsepower and a maximum speed of 8500 rpm, the 296GTB gives you the power and excitement you expect from a Ferrari. But the F8 Tributo’s eight-cylinder engine is fully powered by gas and has a sound and simplicity that the partially battery-powered six-cylinder 296GTB doesn’t have. Even though it differs from the F8, the 296 is better than the F8. Owning the only 2023 F8 Tributo is one thing. It’s different from buying the last entry-level mid-engine Ferrari coupe with only a gas engine—a V-8, no less—and not an electric motor.
