Porsche has released the new Manthey Kit for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. At the Nordschleife, a GT4 RS with a Manthey Kit turned in a time of 7:03.121, which was 6.179 seconds faster than a regular car. Porsche plans to sell the kit in the United States, but it hasn’t said how much it will cost or when it will be available. Most of the time, fractions show how far a racecar has moved. Over time, it can cut anything by a tenth of a second here or a few thousand there. The Manthey Kit Porsche showed for the 718 GT4 RS goes against those numbers and cuts 6.179 seconds off the stock car’s time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The new package includes flaps, air curtains, and a Gurney flap at the front wheel arch. The car’s new carbon underbody, which has diffusers, helps strengthen the front downforce. The rear wing is 3.4 inches wider than the average model, and the side blades are bigger to give the back of the car more downforce. To make things more interesting, a fourth place is added. At 124 mph, the downforce goes from 196 pounds to 372 pounds when the rear wing is set up for track speed. Because the downforce is getting stronger, the engine cover needs a carbon weave to make it stronger. Additional Modification Together, Porsche and Manthey made a new coil-over chassis for the car. It has spring struts that can be set to four positions and rebound and compression steps that can be changed without tools. The front suspension spring rates have been raised by 20%. You can also get braided steel brake lines and race brake pads as part of the Manthey setup. Porsche says the kit will be sold in the United States, but they haven’t said when or how much it will cost. Significantly, the item doesn’t change the car’s guarantee.
