Porsche has shown off a new version of its famous logo. The parts that are made of copper are now smoother, and the features that are made of red have a new honeycomb pattern. By the end of 2023, the new logo will appear on cars. The latest version of Porsche’s iconic crest logo has been officially unveiled, but you may need reading glasses to see the changes. The historical badge is still easy to recognize, and its shape has mostly stayed the same, but some changes can be seen. On the crown, all of the golden knurlings have been smoothed away. The word “PORSCHE” at the top and the word “STUTTGART” (now in black) in the middle of the crest stand out against the smooth background. The knurling behind the red stripes has also been smoothed out, but less than the bronze knurling. Instead, Porsche used a honeycomb design that looks like how carbon fiber is woven. A Quick Look Back Porsche is remaking its cars because it has been making sports cars for 75 years. Since the company made the first car in 1952, the crest has been used differently on vehicles. Since then, the image has been changed five times, with the most recent change coming in 2008. Like the logos of other car companies, the Porsche crest represents the company’s history and the area where it was founded. The bucking horse and the pattern it is stamped on come straight from the Stuttgart city seal. In the same way, the black and red colors and the horns in the corners are a nod to the famous German automaker’s home state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern, now called Baden-Württemberg. Even though the changes aren’t that big, Porsche fans will notice the new badge and the first cars. Porsche thinks cars will start to have the new logo around the end of 2023.
