Ford has announced that the 2024 Mustang will cost between $32,515 and $59,565 for the Dark Horse performance version. The GT with a V-8 engine costs $43,090, which is $3,370 more than the same model from the year before. Ford says the 2024 cars will start showing up in showrooms this summer. The Ford Mustang 2024 is the newest pony car on the market, but it costs much more than the Chevy Camaro, which has been around for a long time. Our friends at Road & Track tell us that the 2024 Mustang will cost more. The base EcoBoost model will now cost $32,515, the V-8 GT will cost $43,090, and the new Dark Horse performance model with 500 hp will cost $59,565. In comparison, the base Camaro 2023 with four cylinders starts at well under $30,000, and a version with eight cylinders costs around $38,000. Even worse for Ford is comparing it to the 1LE track-focused performance model of the Camaro. The 1SS 1LE starts at more than $11,000 less than the Dark Horse, and even the 2SS 1LE, which has more features, costs more than $6000 more than the Dark Horse. The Camaro’s 6.2-liter V-8 makes 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque, but the Ford‘s 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 has been updated and now makes 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque. As soon as we get a Dark Horse, we look forward to putting them against each other. Even though the lineup has changed a lot and not all base prices are the same, all of these Mustang prices are a couple of thousand dollars more than last year. For example, the 315-hp EcoBoost model now comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission that used to be an option. Six-speed manual transmissions are only found in cars with V-8 engines. The EcoBoost and the GT have a Premium trim level that adds more features. The EcoBoost costs $5,525 more than the GT, and the GT costs $4,520 more. The convertible is only available in the Premium grade, which starts at $43,540 for an EcoBoost convertible and $53,110 for a GT convertible. Ford says that American car dealers will be able to sell 2024 Mustangs starting this summer.
