Ram showed a concept for a mid-size electric pickup truck to its dealers. Reports say that the electric concept will look like the Ram 1500 Revolution concept (shown above), shown for the first time at CES earlier this year. The Dakota was dropped from the company’s lineup in 2011, leaving a hole that the midsize idea would fill. Ram is getting its dealers ready for the possibility that it will add a mid-size electric pickup truck to its lineup soon. Automotive News says the company talked to dealers about its ideas for a mid-size electric pickup at a meeting in Las Vegas. The new idea is like the full-size 1500 Revolution idea that Ram showed for the first time at the CES technology show in January. A dealer named Randy Dye told Automotive News that the idea was “the future.” Dye says, “We’ll be back in that [mid-size] game.” He said it looks like a Ram for sure. Dye, who owns Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and Maserati Alfa Romeo of Daytona in Daytona Beach, Florida, told Automotive News that Stellates representatives showed 30 new products for different brands at the meeting. Retailers who worked for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles before the company merged with the PSA Group to form Stellates met for the first time in eight years. In January, Ram showed off the full-size 1500 Revolution concept, which got a lot of praise. The interior could be set up in many ways, and the third-row jump seats added to the creative and innovative design. The final version came out a month later, but many exciting parts still needed to be included. The midrate that folded down and had built-in jump seats for the third row seemed to have been thrown away. A brand-new, mid-size electric pickup truck would be a big hit. Since the Dakota was taken off the market, there have been a lot of sales of small and medium-sized trucks from other companies. Ram could compensate for the more than 11 years it has gone without a truck of this size.
