Many people think of trucks as useful and strong, while others think of them as stylish and high-class. These inconsistencies lead to angry online comment threads and even legislative suggestions that target modified machines in particular. Everyone can laugh at this Ram getting stuck in the grass, but I’m not here to back up either side.

The fact that the truck owner uploaded the video to TikTok shows that he was having a good time. The video shows that it has four-wheel drive, and it’s a 2019 or later Ram 2500 Mega Cab. The trouble is that the rubber band tires are very slippery. An earlier piece says those are KG1 Forged wheels that are 24 inches by 12 inches. It’s hard to say for sure, but the tires are Nitto NT420Vs. If this is the case, they are made to be used on roads in any weather. You get the idea. Also, the blue shock covers make me think that this truck has the Ram off-road package installed.

See how a UTV frees a Ram 2500 Bro Truck that is stuck in the mud

The poor thing sits there and spins, even with a 4×4 on. The tires don’t sink in; instead, they get covered in mud and turn into drag slicks. That’s the last thing you need when you have to move 7,000 pounds through sludge.

I’ve seen this happen for myself. It was in an OBS Ford single cab long bed, and there was no weight on the back wheels. In this case, some extra cargo behind the cab of the Ram would have been helpful.

It helped a lot that the Can-Am Defender UTV later used a strap to pull the Ram out. Of course, the fact that the side-by-side test was done on dry ground has a big effect on the results. For fun, it’s funny to think of a 1.0-liter engine-powered buggie beating a big, mean truck that would have a hard time getting over such a simple hurdle.

In this case, many things could have been done differently. Instead of making those big ruts, it would have been better to ease off on the gas and stay away from soft ground at all costs. It doesn’t matter, and the truck will likely stay on the road for the rest of its days unless some Bubba finds it 100,000 miles from now and puts on some mud boggers. (That’s me. I really am a Bubba.)
