Early this month, Porsche said it would sell its one-of-a-kind 1999 Classic Club Coupe at an auction. The car was made as a thought experiment to see what a 996-generation 911 would have looked like if Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program had been in place. Of course, Jerry Seinfeld has the best-hits 996 with a unique body and interior, so that is the answer. Since Seinfeld likes Porsches and has a lot of money, it’s not surprising that he bought the 911 Classic Club Coupe. I’m glad to see Seinfeld keep his Porsches because he drives them. He’s the only wealthy Porsche owner I like. It’s nice that the Classic Club Coupe won’t be locked up in an airtight storage unit.
