The 2024 Toyota Tacoma will be the first substantial mid-size pickup truck facelift in eight years. It boasts a fresh design, an optional hybrid drivetrain, and several off-road trims. With these vast upgrades, Toyota stuffed the 2024 Tacoma with practical features, amusing design elements, and well-integrated technology. Some were Easter eggs, new symbols, and entertaining design elements. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma’s most intriguing details are here.

Travel Songs

The 2024 Tacoma boasts a 10-speaker JBL sound system with a smaller, lighter subwoofer for genuine audiophiles. However, the JBL Flex tiny speaker shines. The main speaker is docked and charged on the dash. Toyota claims the Bluetooth speaker can connect to other JBL Flex speakers and lasts six hours after removal. It can withstand three-foot-deep water.

Strong off-road bike

The 326-hp iForce Max powerplant gives Tacoma its first hybrid option. The 2023 Toyota Prius introduced the “Beyond Zero” (buzz) emblem. Turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid vehicles have it. Every new Toyota electric, hybrid, or hydrogen fuel-cell automobile will have the blue circle logo. Tacoma versions with iForce Max will be available after the gas-only cars are released later this year. Tacomas won’t have this badge until 2024.

I’ll introduce myself.

Two new Tacoma nameplates with separate symbols debuted in 2024. Overlanding vehicles like the Trailhunter have a tuned suspension, bed utility bar, snorkel air intake, and mounting locations for light camping gear. Trailhunter logo is a rough compass with an eight-sided “T” in the middle. The 2015 Tacoma’s TRD PreRunner badge is returning. Two-wheel drive and a large bed image distinguish the off-road type.

Emus are everywhere.

Toyota and ARB collaborated on Trailhunter items like the Old Man Emu suspension. The ARB logo is prominent on 2.5-inch forged black shocks with external remote reservoirs, steel rear bumpers, and rescue hooks.

Every light.

The Trailhunter improved off-road attachments and suspension make camping easier. Truck beds have narrow, rectangular scene lights. They illuminate the camp setup at night. Trailhunter lights are included, but TRD Pro lights are extra. Three dashboard toggle buttons turn accessories on and off in the Trailhunter. Owners can install additional lighting systems.

Toyota hid an Easter egg on the dashboard of the Tacoma, unlike the Jeep it competes with. Toyota’s circular trim piece reads “Accessory Ready,” indicating that new Tacoma purchasers will have several factory options. Closed doors hide the coded word.

Don’t touch.

Tacoma headlights have a great secret. The Tacoma will be the only mid-size car with an automated aluminum tailgate, like full-size trucks. The usual handle, key fob, or smooth, rectangular tail light button opens the mechanized tailgate. If you lightly touch the door with your knee, it will rise, allowing loading the bed easier even with full hands.
