Mercedes-Benz R&D makes super wagons. Two 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagons were tested outdoors at the Nürburgring. Engineers pushed non-AMG estates to screech tires.

Car Spy Media uploaded a YouTube video showing two white and silver E-Class Wagons being beaten. Industrial sessions, where manufacturers test new cars in inclement weather, have closed the Nürburgring, which is typically bustling. The Nordschleife is challenging and bumpy, giving it an ideal spot to evaluate suspension settings, improve handling, and smooth the ride.

The two cars are intriguing since they reveal the E-Class Wagon and have different suspension systems than the sedan, which has been fully demonstrated. Despite its non-AMG appearance, the white car has a firmer suspension and less body movement. The new Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance has the same four-cylinder engine as an AMG but doesn’t have the air dams, airflow, or sound.

Shiny cars are more entertaining. Rolling, pitching, and diving demonstrate speed. The test car is more comfy and less athletic than the white wagon. It is being altered to allow for a German parent to drive their family wagon to the racecourse. I can only speculate, but the silver car’s tires and chassis look more like the original E450 All Terrain, giving me optimism that it may return.
