Three things make this 1972 Cadillac Eldorado car stand out. It’s an Eldorado wagon coach driven by the American Sunroof Company. There are only eight of them known to exist in the whole world. Even though there isn’t any proof, the ad still says that Evel Knievel is thought to have owned it. The UK is the last place I’d expect to see a custom-bodied 1972 Eldorado, but that’s where it is now.

The Cadillac car is said to be in Reading, Berkshire, England, even though its license plates are from Montana. It was brought to the UK more than 30 years ago and spent most of its time in a dry barn. It has been well taken care of, but the surface is rusty, and the chrome is broken. It’s a reliable and beautiful Eldorado wagon with two doors (or is it a shooting brake?).

The 1972 Cadillac Eldorado built with a coach built has a story

There’s something very American about this car—you won’t find one east of the Atlantic—about how the white paint and black plastic wagon roof look together. But it fits in with its surroundings thanks to its prominent gold grille and flying woman hood ornament, which resembles Rolls-Royce.

The inside is almost perfect since it was stored for a long time. The rugs are spotless, the red leather is beautiful, and the wood trim is excellent. However, this shouldn’t be a surprise since the car only has 43,000 miles. This Eldorado took a lot of work to control.

Under that vast hood is an 8.1-liter (500 cubic-inch) V8 engine that made 235 horsepower in the United States. This was a significant drop from the 365 horsepower it made the previous year because of rules about pollution at the time. The engine is dirty inside, and one of the cylinder heads and the carburetor are missing. It will take some work to get it back up and running, but it needs to be clarified how bad the problems are or how much work needs to be done.

With three days left in the sale and a high bid of £2,650, it might sell reasonably. Watching this coach-built Eldorado wagon go down those rewinding roads would be fun, so I hope it stays in the UK after it’s sold. You must know that wagons are a common way to get around in the UK.
