Shelby American continues the long practice of naming things after Carroll Shelby by doing more custom-tuned wonders. At the start of the year, the performance shop put out a Centennial Edition Mustang with 750 hp. In a strange turn of events, Shelby’s most recent car is a performance car built on the F-150 that can make up to 800 horsepower.

The Centennial Edition is based on the 2023 F-150 Lariat 4×4 SuperCrew and has the same naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V-8 engine that is a choice on the base Ford model. Shelby also made a supercharged system that included a cast throttle body with high-flow fuel injectors, a performance air intake with a high-flow filter, and an aluminum heat exchanger. Because of the extra system, the total output of 800 horsepower is much more doable. If either engine combination is picked, the Centennial Edition will have a Borla cat-back exhaust system with two black pipes at the back to let the exhaust gases out.

Because the Centennial didn’t have enough power with just an exhaust system and a supercharger, the Shelby team added Fox shocks with customizable dual-speed controls. Shelby says that the technology lets the wonders be changed to make the car better off-road, handle better on the track, and even cause the ride more comfortable. Upgraded brakes are now built into 22-inch alloy wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain KO2 tires. This makes the car better at going off-road.

On the inside, there are Centennial Edition badges and two-tone leather seats. The rest of the interior comprises Shelby Centennial floor mats, billet racing pedals, tinted windows, and a sign on the dash with the actual Shelby serial number.

Shelby will only make 100 of the trucks to honor the 100th birthday of the company’s founder. The standard 400-hp truck version costs $129,495, while the supercharged version costs $138,495. The cars come with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty that covers both the powertrain and standard features like over-the-air upgrades and an onboard generator.
