• A new EV3X trim level with an expected range of 355 miles has been added to the 2023 GMC Hummer SUT lineup.
  • The Hummer EV3X pickup truck has all-terrain tires that are 35 inches wide and 22-inch wheels.
  • The EV3X type of the 2024 GMC Hummer SUV is also available, but the EPA says it can only go 314 miles on a single charge.

As of the 2023 model year, the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck will no longer only be offered in the fully equipped Edition 1 model. This is because the EV3X trim level costs less and has an expected driving range of 355 miles, 26 miles more than the Edition 1 trim level.

Hummers in EVs

The Edition 1 and the new Hummer EV3X have the same three-motor electric engine. On the other hand, the XXX comes with all-terrain tires that are 35 inches wide and wheels that are 22 inches in diameter. It also comes with the Extreme Off-Road package, which includes extra skid plates, 35-inch mud-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, and other off-road tools.

If the Hummer EV3X has the Extreme Off-Road option, its expected range drops to 329 miles per charge, the same as the Edition 1. These more powerful versions can pull up to 7500 pounds, less than the normal EV3X, which can pull up to 8500 pounds.

The EV3X is also part of the GMC Hummer EV SUV lineup for 2024. The electric SUV’s three motors aren’t as powerful as the pickup truck’s, so the EPA estimates it will have a shorter range. Other than that, the situation is almost the same. With standard 22-inch wheels and tires, the Edition 1 and EV3X should be able to go 314 miles on a single charge. If you choose the Extreme Off-Road mode, the estimated range goes down by 16 miles to 298 miles.

GM’s Factory Zero plant in the Detroit-Hamtramck area is making both body styles of the GMC Hummer EV, but the company is still trying to fill over 90,000 orders. GMC says that bookings for the SUT and SUV are currently stopped because of a backlog.
