• The starting price of the 2023 Prius Prime will be $33,445, which is $3580 more than the price of the current Prime.
  • The highest trim level, XSE Premium, now costs over $40,000. This is $4620 more than the 2022 Limited model.
  • Also, Toyota thinks that the base SE will have a range of 44 miles, which is more than the current 25-mile range.

The fifth-generation Toyota Prius came out in November with a sleek new look and a more powerful 220-hp engine in the plug-in Prime model. This week, Toyota announced the prices for the 2023 Prius Prime. Because it has better performance and a more stylish look, it costs a lot more.

Because the extra power cuts the Prime’s 0-60 mph time from 10 seconds to 6.6 seconds, making it the sportier vehicle. SE, XSE, and XSE Premium have replaced the LE, XLE, and Limited trims. The base price of the SE is now $33,445, which is $3580 more than the base price of the Prius Prime. The cost of the XSE trim is $36,695, which is $5,500 more than the price of the XLE trim. At the top of the line-up is the Prius Prime, which costs over $40,000. This is $4620 more than the 2022 Limited.

Toyota also said how much the 2023 Prius Prime will cost and how far it will go on electric power alone. Toyota now says that the new battery pack in the Prime, which is almost twice as big as the old model, will give the SE model a range of 44 miles, even though Toyota’s original estimate was 38 miles. Even though Toyota says the top two models only have a range of 39 miles, this is a significant improvement over the 2022 Prius Prime, which only has a range of 25 miles. The SE comes standard with 17-inch wheels, but the XSE and XSE Premium give up 5 miles of range for 19-inch wheels. The Prius Prime will be sold in stores for the first time in May.
