• The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will have a new grille with seven slots and a new interior.
  • Every 2019 Wrangler has a new 12.3-inch touchscreen in the Centre that works with Apple Carpal and Android Auto wirelessly.
  • The new Wrangler 4xe Sport and Rubicon X round out the collection.

The Jeep Wrangler has been a reliable off-road vehicle in the United States for many years. The Wrangler still makes small, steady changes, but the basic recipe has remained unchanged. For the 2024 model year, Jeep makes minor changes to the Wrangler’s technology and gives it a new grille.

Similar-looking faces

When you look at the new front end, you can see it still has the iconic Wrangler face with a broad nose, just as you would expect. The mesh behind the slots has been opened up, and if you look closely, you can now see each grille slot better. The usual flat bodywork of each headlight has been replaced and merged into the mesh backing. The 2024 Rubicon models will stand out even more because buyers can now add a factory-backed Warn winch that can pull up to 8,000 pounds.

The 12.3-inch Centre touchscreen with Uconnect 5 software has replaced the old infotainment options. The car’s biggest alteration. Apple Carpal and Android Auto are built-in wireless features that come with the vehicle. The Jeep Trails Offload software, which tells you how to get to the 62 Badge of Honor trails, is on the Centre screen (or the option to subscribe to access over 3000 trail guides). The small changes inside have been finished by reupholstering the instrument panel with soft-touch materials and contrast stitching.

Off-Roading runs on electricity.

The Power Box, as Jeep calls it, is a new addition to the 4xe series. It is essentially an auxiliary power supply unit with four 120-volt outlets and a total output of 30 amps. When you need more power for a long time, the Power Box can work independently or with the SUV’s engine in a hybrid mode.

Also, Jeep is adding two new 4xe models for 2024, making its lineup even bigger. The new base model is the Sport S 4xe, which is the same as the gas-powered Sport trim and offers a cheaper version of the plug-in hybrid powertrain. The new Rubicon X is a step up from the standard Rubicon trim. It joins the 4xe and gas-powered versions, adding comfort for the cabin and off-road gear.

The Rubicon’s rear axle is now a full-float Dana, which makes it easier to put on bigger off-road tires. The Rubicon X, already discussed, has 35-inch Goodrich A/T tires on bead lock-compatible wheels, a full-time Rock-Trace transfer case, steel bumpers, and an off-road camera that is built in. The Will’s model comes with steel rock rails, 33-inch tires, and a rear differential that locks. A Selec-Trac full-time transfer case with a 4LO ratio of 2.72:1 is also part of the 4xe Willis.

Every Time It’s the Same

There are no significant changes to the engine lineup for the 24 Wrangler. There are still four engine options. The standard V-6 engine makes 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, but the 2.0-liter inline-four engine produces more but less horsepower. The 2.0-liter and 3.6-liter gasoline engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the 4xe and 392 engines can only be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep also made some of the standard safety features of the Wrangler better. Side curtain airbags are now standard on all grades for the first and second rows. The Sport S and higher models now come with adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning as standard features. All models except the base Sport have blind-spot monitoring and help with parking.

Even though Jeep hasn’t released official pricing information, we expect the 2024 Wrangler to be about $3,000 more expensive than the current model.
