For many reasons, I was already excited about the 2024 Lexus GX, but the car company has given me even more. In earlier hints, pictures were cropped to show off the truck’s big mirrors and boxy top. This time, we can see it from farther away. Even though a big splash hides most of the GX’s design, it’s enough to hold us over until it comes out on June 8. Just check out the shots! Also, the front window! My experts told me that written copy shouldn’t have exclamation points, but they didn’t know about this factory GX off-roader when they said that. It has the least noticeable head of any Lexus SUV made in the last few years and looks great in every other way. That alone is a reason to be happy. And there looks to be a strong skid plate underneath, which will be helpful if I ever get one. It looks like the bottom of the back window is bent, but you can’t see what’s behind the hood and flat windshield. Because the waist is high and tight, the back is raised. Lexus’s confidence is impressive, and I can’t wait to see how everything works out. Even though the car company has made some significant improvements in the past, this is the kind of car we love to visit. The Lexus GX 2024 will likely use the body-on-frame TNGA-F design from Toyota. Even though Lexus hasn’t said what engine it will have or if it will be electric, the next-generation 4Runner may be based on the GX because of how much it looks like its Toyota sibling. So far, that’s about it, but a 10-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case are most likely coming. There is a lot at stake for 4×4 fans, especially those who value these companies’ reliability (and selling value). When the all-new Lexus GX sells on Thursday, we’ll know everything about it.
