• In 2024, the Mercedes-Benz E-class car will be shown to the world for the first time.
  • The luxury wagon moves into a new age with a minor facelift and intelligent electronics.
  • According to EPA records, the United States will only get the All-Terrain version of the E-class car. However, an AMG-tuned E63 is on the way.

The days of the luxury sports car that can go anywhere are ending, but they aren’t over yet. Mercedes-Benz shows this by taking the cover off the sixth-generation wagon. Like its more minor sedan brother, the 2024 E-class wagon gets a new look and a bunch of new technologies.

The new version of the E-class estate is 0.9 inches longer than the model it replaces. This is because the design has been improved. The extra length should give people sitting in the back more space. Adding 1.1 inches to the width gives you more room to spread your arms. When the back seats are in place, there are 22 cubic feet of space for cargo, but when the seats are folded, there are 65 cubic feet. This shows how good the shape is. The E-wagon has a new grille in front and two stars that look like the Mercedes star logo in the headlights.

How big is the inside

Inside, the wagon version of the 2024 E-class is just as luxurious as the car version. The standard form of the long roof has two monitors, but you can also get a high-tech “Superscreen” with three screens. Like the regular E-class, the rest of the cabin is made of leather and aluminium switches that look very nice. The dashboard is lit up by ambient lighting, which helps tie the rest of the car’s interior together. With the Active Ambient Lighting package, which is an extra feature, the lights can change the beat of the music. The light strip can also show the driver visible warnings from the driver-assistance systems about possible dangers.

When the extra front-passenger screen is added, the Superscreen extension lets the front-seat passenger watch movies and play games while the car moves. Mercedes says that the system is safe because the driver can’t access information that changes on the screen. Mercedes also put some third-party apps like TikTok, Zoom, and even Angry Birds on the central display, and the built-in entertainment system lets you watch as part of a subscription plan. The optional photo and video camera on the Superscreen must still be for Zoom to work.

Unresolved Problems

The E450 All-Terrain is the only E-class wagon to cross the Atlantic, but we won’t know until we hear from the company. Mercedes-Benz introduced a new plug-in hybrid model that will be offered at launch, but the company doesn’t want to promote plug-in hybrids in North America.

Instead, you can expect the updated 3.0-liter inline-six hybrid engine that gives the new E450 sedan 375 horsepower and powers the car. People say hybrid systems make the auto start/stop system work better and eliminate turbo lag. Most likely, the wagon will have a nine-speed automatic engine and all-wheel drive as standard, just like the sedan.

There are still a lot of questions about the new E-class car that haven’t been answered. We still need to hear if the latest generation will be sold in the United States, and the price has yet to be set. In Europe, sales will start in the fall, and more information should be available before then.
