• As part of a mid-cycle facelift in 2024, the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class will get a new mug.
  • Most of the changes are made to the AMG GLS63 and Maybach GLS600, and all three models get new features on the outside and inside.
  • The Mercedes GLS450 and GLS580 now have engines with 375 and 510 horsepower, respectively, more potent than before.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS class looks different from the model from the year before. The big luxury car also has some brand-new parts inside and outside. This is part of a mid-cycle refresh that should keep Mercedes’ largest model competitive against rivals like the BMW X7 and the Land Rover Range Rover, which have recently been updated.

New Looks

There are different models in the Mercedes GLS series. Mercedes-Benz makes the GLS450 and the GLS580. There are also the high-performance Mercedes-AMG GLS63 and the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS600. The most noticeable change to their looks is that the Mercedes model has a more prominent grille.

All 2024 models now come with three-block taillights that have been updated. Two new paint coolers are Twilight Blue Metallic and MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey. The GLS63 and GLS600 now come with forged 23-inch wheels. Red paint has been added to the brake calipers on the GLS63.

Changes to the inside

Mercedes-Benz now offers leather interiors in Cataplana Beige and Bahia Brown/Black, Mahogany Brown, Macchiato Beige, Crystal White and Silver Gray Pearl, and Crystal White and Silver Gray Pearl. Interior trim options include MANUFAKTUR Piano Lacquer Flowing Lines and shiny Brown Linden Wood. Before, you could only get the latter on the expensive Maybach model.

New steering wheels with touch controls are now on the GLS series. The mid-cycle refresh also includes the latest Mercedes MBUX infotainment system version, which has new screen designs (the AMG has some unique layouts).

Each trim also comes with some new features that come as standard. Performance exhausts, heated and cooled front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and automatic high beams are now standard on every GLS63.

Feed it in

New engines are added to the GLS450 and GLS580 but not to the AMG and Maybach models. The first goes from 483 horsepower to 510 horsepower, while the second goes from 362 horsepower to 375 horsepower. Mercedes says that the AMG’s air suspension and anti-roll system were updated with new software and changed in other ways to bridge the gap between comfort and sporty performance.

The Off-Road Engineering package is now included with the GLS580. This package comes with better air suspension, underbody protection, and a ride height adjustment of 1.2 inches to give the car more clearance from the ground.
