The much-anticipated return of the Toyota Land Cruiser will cause a change in the brand’s market situation that no one saw coming. Outside, this new model is called the Land Cruiser Prado. It’s different from the 200 Series replacement that was available in our country before, which was more expensive. The base price of the SUV was $85,815, and it was shipped out of the US in 2021. To fill the void between the old 200 and the new, limited 300, which Americans can’t buy, Toyota has called this model the 250 Series. It looks stronger than any Land Cruiser I can remember seeing recently. It’s also 4.4 inches thinner than the 200, which makes it a little smaller. Still, it has the same TNGA-F design as the 300 Series but with a bigger displacement. It also has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, but it is very powerful. The i-Force Max hybrid powertrain is standard on all 2017 Land Cruiser models. It has 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque and is the same engine found in the Tacoma midsize pickup. These trims start at a little less than $58,000 for the base 1958 Edition. The base Land Cruiser costs $63,445, and the most expensive one is the First Edition, which costs $76,445. Toyota will only make 5,000 of the second set, and a press release says they will have unique “off-road must-haves” like a roof rack, rock rails, and a front skid plate. The mid-range SUV looks like a good option for people who only need a few niceties, like front seats that are heated and cooled by power and made of SofTex fabric, premium audio with ten speakers, two 12.3-inch screens for entertainment and driving information, and LED headlights. For better grip in mud, sand, and dirt, this trim also has multi-terrain select and a front stabilizer disconnect system. Like the hybrid engine, the two-speed transfer case and eight-speed automatic transmission give the Land Cruiser power on all grades and terrains. An all-wheel drive that works all the time and center and rear locking differentials come as standard. Everything about a Land Cruiser is at least partly ready for the road, no matter how much you pay.
