• The 2025 BMW 2-series car gets some small changes. The dashboard gets extra attention.
  • The digital gauges and touchscreen are now on a curved glass screen that also has BMW’s iDrive 8.5 entertainment software.
  • In the new 2-series, the 230i costs $40,375, and the M240i xDrive costs $53,275.

Three years after a new generation brought the BMW 2-series into the modern era, the 2025 model has been updated with the latest BMW technology. Notably, a 14.9-inch tablet for entertainment is now seamlessly integrated under a single piece of glass, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is placed under the dashboard. This new setup aligns with BMW’s recent updates, such as the i4, i5, and 2025 3-series, and both screens feature the most recent BMW iDrive 8.5 software.

It also comes with a new M Sport Professional package. It gives the 230i four-cylinder engine and the M Sport brakes that come with the M240i. The kit also has a new light design, a redesigned rear spoiler, and black trim pieces.

Only a few more changes are expected for 2025. Like the most recent update for the 3-series, the smaller model now comes with two new steering wheel options: an M Sport-specific three-spoke wheel with a flat bottom and a 230i-specific two-spoke wheel. Two more glossy paint colors are available, and there are now more 19-inch wheel styles to choose from.

The BMW 2-series continues to deliver impressive performance. The 230i’s powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which made 255 horsepower in our tests, can accelerate the car to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds. The M240i, with its 3.0-liter inline-six supercharged engine boasting 382 hp, is a true powerhouse. This model comes with a standard range of performance features, and the more powerful engine in the last M240i we drove allowed it to reach 60 mph in an impressive 3.6 seconds.

The 230i starts at $40,375, and the M240i costs $51,275, the same as the old 2-series. If all-wheel drive is chosen, the price of each model goes up by $2000. The newer versions should be out by the beginning of August.
