• BMW has shown off a new look for its gas-powered 4-series Gran Coupe and electric i4 car for 2025.
  • For the first time, the 4-series Gran Coupe with four cylinders has a 48-volt hybrid system. Thanks to a new setup, the M440i with six cylinders now has four horsepower.
  • A new kidney grille, updated headlights and taillights, and a somewhat remodeled interior are some of the other changes.

BMW has released updated versions of the 2025 4-series Gran Coupe with gasoline engine and the 2025 i4 electric car. Both have a new look that includes the controversial kidney grille. The i4 needs less cooling than the Gran Coupe, so half of its new hood is closed.

Changes have been made to the i4 and 4-series Gran Coupe’s headlights and taillights. The low and high beams are now housed in a single LED section. As an added treat, the new headlights light up when the key is ten feet away from the car. If you look at the back of either of the cars with the M Sport package, you’ll see that they both have shiny black rear diffusers.

There are a few technical changes, but the Gran Coupe models get a better 48-volt hybrid powertrain. This is the first time that this technology has been added to the base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Even though it’s a hybrid, the 430i model’s turbo four still has 255 horsepower. It’s a different story with the M440i, which is more powerful. The 48-volt system gives its 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine 11 horsepower more power. The new system makes a total of 386 horsepower, which is four horsepower more than the old one.

There are a few changes inside. Both models can get BMW’s new iDrive 8.5 software. However, the heated steering wheel, seats, and temperature control system have been moved to the touchscreen. The materials inside the i4 and 4-series Gran Coupe have also been changed. You can now choose from two new types of open-pore wood and brushed aluminum trim.

Another thing that makes the i4 stand out is its unique plug-and-charge system, which can store up to five contracts and let you pay for various public charging networks right from your phone. BMW says that both cars will start being made in July. A closer look at the release date will reveal the price to the general audience.
