It takes a lot of work to keep up with the Joneses, especially when it comes to the race to buy expensive cars. On the other hand, Cadillac showed off the 2025 Escalade, which has a new look and a lot of new technology as part of a big mid-cycle update.

Luxuriousness Stands Out

Any high-end car worth its salt will have the newest features and comforts. Cadillac’s newest luxury car is fully tech-forward; it even uses the Escalade IQ’s 55-inch dashboard screen layout.

One 35-inch screen is for the driver, and the other is 20 inches for the passenger. The two screens are hidden behind a single pane of glass. The difference is that the passenger side is reversed when the car is not in the park to prevent the driver from getting distracted—the gasoline-powered type works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the Google system.

Besides the huge screen, there is a smaller 11-inch touchscreen that lets you change the lights, the temperature, and the four doors, which are now powered. You can swipe the screen or press the button on the door handle to open any of the four doors. The driver’s door is different from the other three doors because it has a device that opens itself when the key fob is present and quickly closes when the driver hits the brakes. The technology can be added to the rest of the cars, and the Platinum and V-series trim levels come with it as standard.

Row 2 of the Executive

The back seats will also be new when the extra Executive Second Row is added. For the best comfort, the captain’s seats now have heating, cooling, and massage functions. An extra touchscreen is also part of the package. There are tray tables that can be put away in the back seat so that you can work on a project. As a bonus, Cadillac made the AKG sound system with 40 speakers instead of 36.

Bringing Light to the Way

One word can sum up the changes that were made to the Escalade’s look: lights. Cadillac says that the front of the full-size SUV is “bolder” in style. The Escalade’s big grille has small horizontal holes that hold the running lights. The headlights and running lights keep their basic shape. The high and low beams can move from lying flat to standing upright. When we talk about grilles, the Premium Luxury Platinum and V-series trims have more lighting, and the Cadillac logo is now lit up all the way around.

The V-series has a new look with a carbon fiber pattern, and regular cars have two new color schemes inside. The three new exterior paint colors are Aegean Stone, Deep Sea Metallic, and Latte Metallic. Both the Escalade and the IQ now have 24-inch wheels.

The updated list now includes all six 2024 trim choices. The supercharged 682-hp 6.2-liter V-8 engine that makes you laugh, and the regular 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 engine will be back in the V-series. The less powerful 3.0-liter diesel inline-six did not make it through the makeover.

Early sales of the 2025 models are planned for January, and production is set to start later this year. Cadillac hasn’t released the final specs or prices yet, but they will be available as the car goes on sale.
