Cadillac’s electric version of the regular Escalade, the 2025 Escalade IQ, has been priced and given full details. The price starts at $129,900. Positioned at the pinnacle of Cadillac’s luxury SUV lineup, the Escalade IQ will feature standard all-wheel drive and a GM-estimated range of 460 miles. The Escalade IQ will launch in four trims: Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, and Sport 2, with the stretched-wheelbase IQL expected to be added to the lineup later. The new electric Escalade IQ is meant to change the Cadillac Escalade’s image for being flashy, expensive, and bad at saving gas. The Cadillac IQ full-size SUV is the best of its growing line of electric SUVs. Its performance surpasses that of the two-row Lyriq and the soon-to-be three-row Vistiq. Like the other two, the Escalade IQ comes with all-wheel drive as standard. However, GM says the Grand Caddy has a longer range of 460 miles. Also, at $129,900, its starting price is much higher than that of the gas-powered Escalade. When it first comes out, the Escalade IQ will come in four trim levels: Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, and Sport 2. Later, an IQL version with a longer wheelbase will come out. Completely New Design The Cadillac IQ is based on the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the GMC Hummer EV. However, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban serve as the basis for the standard Escalade. With a new exterior design that takes style cues from other Cadillac electric vehicles, the IQ has its own look, even though it has a lot in common with other cars. The IQ has a body that is more moved by the wind than the boxy, fossil-burning Escalade. The design in front of the D-pillar is italic and fashioned like an L, just like the Lyriq and Vistiq. The Escalade IQ is a foot longer than its gas-guzzling brother, and it also makes its own gravitational field, as if the regular Escalade wasn’t big enough. In Velocity Max drive mode, all IQ trim levels come with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that makes 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. Cadillac says that their Ultium 24-module battery pack, which has a valuable capacity of over 200.0 kWh, can add 100 miles to the range in about ten minutes when charged with an 800-volt DC fast charger. Luxury vs. Performance There are two types of Escalade IQ: luxury and sport. The Luxury and Sports trims are split into two separate levels, which affect the standard features, equipment inside, and style on the outside. The base Luxury 1 model costs $129,990 and has Galvano door handles and 24-inch 7-spoke metal wheels. For an extra $20,000, the Luxury 2 trim comes with power-adjustable front seats, a trailering kit, slim-line LED lights, and a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system. Prices start at $130,490 for the Sport 1 option, which comes with an illuminated front grille designed for sports and Obsidian gold exterior trim accents. In addition to the features found in the Luxury 2 trim, you can acquire a trailering kit, massage chairs, and a sound system for an additional $20,000. It’s called the Sport 2 trim. In addition, it has curving night vision and an Adaptive Forward Lighting System with 9 modules that level themselves automatically. The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ should be in stores by the end of the year.
