• The K4 is the name of Kia’s new small car.
  • After the mid-size K5, the 2025 K4 will take the place of the Forte.

Kia revealed the design of the 2025 K4 a week ago after two interesting preview images were made public. The new compact car, which will soon replace the Forte, will have a brand-new company design language that will be used across the entire lineup. The K4 will be shown for the first time in other countries at the New York Auto Show next week, on March 27. There need to be detailed details.

The 2025 Kia K4 will take the place of the Forte as a stylish small car

Kia’s innovative “Opposites United” styling first showed up on the 2025 Carnival minivan and the 2024 Sorento SUV. It now moves smoothly into a smaller car as well. The headlights of the K4 are in the shape of a T, with a small rectangular grille connecting to a point right above the front wheel arches. After this point, there is a noticeable wrinkle that climbs up to meet the sideview mirror. This groove is repeated across the back wheels, which makes the haunches wide and flat.

The K4 also has a unique D-pillar with chrome window trim that ends suddenly in a triangular piece where it meets a sharp vertical line. It also has a fastback-style roofline that slopes down, just like the mid-size K5 sedan. The back of the car has L-shaped taillights that go across the width of the trunk.

Inside the K4, the surfaces are simple and have been given an odd green color. The entertainment system and gauge area are both on a single, big screen that goes across the dashboard. Under the screen is a big horizontal chrome trim piece that holds the air vents for climate control. You can still see the physical buttons for services like “Home” and “Map” above and below. A normal physical gear switch stays in place.

The K4 will likely have the same engine choices as the current Forte, which are a 2.0-liter normally aspirated inline-four or a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four. It’s possible that a hybrid version would be made to fight with the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the new Honda Civic Hybrid. The electric EV4 version might also be coming soon. The 2025 K4 will get more information next week at the New York Auto Show, where it will be shown for the first time.
