Today, the 2025 Land Rover Defender Octa, a vehicle that pushes the boundaries of power and performance, has arrived. It is the most powerful and extreme Defender ever to leave the workshop, boasting unique features that will surely pique your interest.

The fast Defender has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine with 626 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It’s built on the 110, a sedan with four doors. The truck’s power goes up to 590 lb-ft when Dynamic Launch Mode is turned on. This lets it reach 155 mph and go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. In fact, a Defender can go from 0 to 155 mph in less than four seconds.

The 2025 Land Rover Defender Octa, with 626 horsepower, is Britain's "Raptor”

JLR revealed in a news release that the Octa was named after the strength of diamonds, a fitting tribute to its robust off-road capabilities. Imagine a British Raptor; now picture it with enhanced off-road skills, thanks to a range of updated chassis parts and a sophisticated system of hydraulically linked adaptive dampers. The Defender Octa is ready to take you on an adventure.

The Octa has stronger fenders, tracks that are 2.7 inches bigger, and a 1.1-inch rise. The new bumpers make the approach and exit angles better and add more protection to the undercarriage. This means that the Defender Octa can cross water up to 3.3 feet deep, which is further than any other Defender model up to this point. The Octa also has the highest steering ratio that has ever been put in a stock Defender. The Octa has anti-lock brakes, an off-road launch mode, and a unique “performance-focused off-road” drive mode that lets it do its best in the sand.

The 33-inch all-terrain Goodyear tires, the biggest factory Defender tires to date, add to the Defender’s already long list of awards. Inside, the Octa offers a luxurious experience with new performance seats that keep the front passengers tightly in place. These seats feature ‘Body and Soul Seat audio technology,’ designed to let you not just hear but feel your music.

The base price of the 2025 Land Rover Defender Octa is $153,475, and the Faroe Green Edition One, which is only offered for the first year, costs $169,275.
