Mazda has set prices for its new mid-size two-row SUVs, the CX-70 and CX-70 Hybrid. Prices for the base CX-70 range from $41,820 to $57,325, and prices for the plug-in hybrid range from $55,775 to $58,825. The Mazda CX-70 will go on sale in the spring, and cheaper trim levels will come out in the summer and fall. Mazda has now said how much the new CX-70 and CX-70 Hybrid will cost. The base CX-70 costs $41,820, and the most expensive one, the S Premium Plus, costs $57,325. There are fewer trim levels and price ranges for the plug-in hybrid type. The price goes from $55,775 to $58,825. The three-row CX-90 starts at $39,220, and the two-row CX-70 also starts at that price. The three-row CX-90’s extra trim packages are to blame for this difference in basic prices. It’s easy to see that the 2025 CX-70 and 2024 CX-90 have the same overall price when you look at their trim options. In the end, the CX-70 is just a CX-90 with two rows of seats instead of one. When the prices for the 2025 CX-90 are made public, the exact price match may change a little. The 48-volt hybrid system and turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engines from the CX-90 are also in the CX-70. This engine makes 280 horsepower in the Preferred, Premium, and Premium Plus trims. The faster S trims, starting at $53,825 for the S Premium, make 340 horsepower. If you move up from the base Preferred model to the mid-level $47,725 Premium trim level, the wheels will be 21 inches instead of 19 inches. The Premium grade also comes with a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a head-up display that is placed on the windshield. The $50,275 Premium Plus comes with better Nappa leather and comfort features like a heated steering wheel, cushioned front seats, and heated back seats to make up for the higher price. The most expensive option, the S Premium Plus, costs $57,325. It comes with tan quilted Nappa leather seats, a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, and beautiful suede details on the dashboard. It also comes with the CX-90 plug-in hybrid drivetrain, which has an electric motor and a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that work together to make 323 horsepower. The PHEV version can only be found in Premium and Premium Plus models that cost $55,775 and $58,825, respectively. During our tests, the CX-90 Hybrid did better than the inline-six type. Both trim levels of the CX-70 hybrid come with a built-in battery that Mazda says will let you drive electric for about 26 miles before it needs to be charged again. All three powertrains come with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. In the CX-90, we sometimes found the automatic transmission to be slow to respond. The first CX-70 SUVs will be on the market later this spring. The types that cost less will come out in the summer and fall.
