• The Cadillac Lyriq-V 2026 is the most powerful car in the Lyriq line, with 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
  • Cadillac says the all-wheel-drive electric SUV will be the fastest Caddy ever, able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
  • The performance-focused Lyriq-V will go on sale later this year for as little as $79,990.

The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V is the first electric car to carry the V-series badge, which is known for being fast. But don’t let this fool you. This type is not a full V-Blackwing meant to be used on a track. Instead, it is the most powerful electric mid-size SUV that prioritizes style and function.

The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V Is An Electric SUV That Costs $79,990 And Has 615 Horsepower

The new Lyriq has two different powertrains. The single electric motor that powers the rear-wheel-drive system has 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. For all-wheel-drive cars, a second motor is added to the front of the car. This gives the Lyriq a total output of 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet. After our initial test drive in 2022, we concluded that the Lyriq delivers elegance and luxury, though it lacks the neck-snapping acceleration that some EV enthusiasts might desire. The Lyriq-V wants to change that.

The Fastest Cadillac Ever

The Lyriq-V’s all-wheel drive system has two motors that work together to produce 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. To get all of the power, you need to switch to the new Velocity Max mode. The V-Mode button on the steering wheel can also be used to quickly access and change the steering feel, pedal response, and music playing inside the car.

Caddy says the new, more powerful car will take 3.3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour. The V is faster than the 500-hp AWD Lyriq we tried; it took it 4.6 ticks to reach 60 mph. The company that made it says it is the fastest Lyriq and Cadillac ever.

Of course, the extra power reduces the EV SUV’s projected driving range. The performance model of the Lyriq-V has a range of 285 miles, down from 307 miles for the standard dual-motor model. It has the same 102.0-kWh battery as all previous models, though.

The V is supported by a suspension system made just for the Lyriq. It doesn’t have Magnetic Ride Control like other Cadillacs. Instead, it has the more standard Continuous Damping Control, which is based on valves. The company that made the car says that the suspension is tuned for comfort rather than speed. It is still a Lyriq, after all.

It doesn’t look too different from the Lyriq-V. The V-series logo on the back doors and trunk stands out the most. Like other V-series cars, the Lyriq stands out from its smaller brothers with body-colored lower trim, a unique lower front fascia, and side rockers. If none of these changes are enough to make the V-series stand out, carbon-fiber details can always be added.

The story inside stays the same. Aside from the V-series logos on the steering wheel and the lit sill plates, there isn’t much in the cabin that makes it look like a racing car. However, dual-plane augmented reality has been built into a new head-up monitor.

The new Lyriq-V will be made by Cadillac early this year, and prices will begin at $79,990.
