Jeep has presented the new hybrid drivetrain for the 2026 Cherokee. It is expected to get a combined gas mileage of 38 mpg. You get a 1.6-liter diesel engine and all-wheel drive with the new hybrid model. The new Cherokee will go on sale late this year, according to Jeep. We hope to see it soon. Jeep has already released the first pictures of the new 2026 Cherokee. Also, the company’s customer website accidentally shared some new details about the small SUV’s hybrid drivetrain before it was officially released. Everything about the Cherokee will be new. It will feature all-wheel drive and a 1.6-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine. Jeep states that the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four in this new gas-electric powertrain is expected to deliver a combined fuel economy of 38 mpg. This model will go up against small SUV hybrids like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Honda CR-V Hybrid, though power numbers have not been released yet. In addition, the Cherokee will be able to pull 3,500 pounds, and all Jeep models will have Active Drive I 4×4. Base, Laredo, Limited, Overland, and Trailhawk will be the trim levels. Trailhawk will have extra off-road gear. Along with the blue and green images we’ve already seen, Jeep has now released the 2026 Cherokee’s color options: Bright White, Silver Zynith, Baltic Gray, Diamond Black, Hydro Blue, Red Hot, and ’41. The 2026 Cherokee is set to make its official debut soon, so we should soon know more about this new SUV. The Cherokee will go on sale later this year after being rebuilt. After the 2023 model year, the previous version of the Cherokee was taken off the market. Jeep hopes that bringing back this famous nameplate will help sales.
