Jeep previewed a refreshed 2026 Grand Cherokee, with the full reveal expected later this year. The mid-size SUV features updated front-end styling, including revised headlights and redesigned grilles. The cabin remains mostly unchanged, but it now includes simplified climate controls and smaller knobs placed on either side of the touchscreen. The U.S. brand’s best-selling car, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, needs some changes. The most recent generation started as the Grand Cherokee L with three rows of seats for the 2021 model year. In 2022, a two-row version was added. SUV sales declined by 12% last year, falling from 244,594 units in 2023 to 216,148. Two teaser photos of the 2026 Grand Cherokee were released today, giving people their first look at how the mid-size SUV will look and feel after it has been rebuilt. The front part of the Grand Cherokee has had some small but important changes made to it. The new LED strip is shaped like a hockey stick and goes along the top edge of the headlights. It curves down to meet the chrome trim that connects the grille to the bottom of the headlights. The grille’s silver highlight looks like it was inspired by the new Jeep Compass EV, which is only offered in Europe right now. Many changes have been made to the front lip, which has led to two new parts for the lower air intake. The metal strip at the bottom of the lower grille now curves up at the outside edge of the front fascia. The daytime running light connects the top piece to the side vent. We heard that a prototype of the new Grand Cherokee was recently seen in the Detroit area. The front of the car was carefully hidden, which suggested that the back wouldn’t look very different. The inside has also been changed, especially the center panel, which now has a single row of buttons instead of the bank of temperature controls below the main touchscreen. Along with a few more buttons, the two knobs have shrunk and are now higher up on either side of the screen. Also, it looks like the passenger screen has gotten bigger, but we won’t know for sure until we get more information from Jeep. Jeep says that the Grand Cherokee will still be made at Stellantis’ factories in Detroit. It will be offered with the plug-in hybrid 4xe drivetrain in both two-row and three-row L configurations. Later this year, more details about the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be made public.
