The 2026 Genesis GV70 receives a refresh, featuring sleek new headlights, a more detailed grille mesh, and a striking 27.0-inch OLED screen on the dashboard. The Electrified GV70 features many of the same updates and comes equipped with a larger 84.0-kWh battery, along with a standard NACS plug. Genesis has not yet revealed the price of the 2026 GV70, but the cost will be announced before the compact luxury SUV arrives at U.S. dealerships in the first half of next year. The Genesis GV70 has been the Korean luxury brand’s best-selling model in North America, and its new look should make it even more popular. Its face has become more expressive, and its dashboard has been remade to include a big OLED screen. After first showing these improvements on Korean-spec cars earlier this year, Genesis has now given us more information on the versions that will be sold in our country, including the EV version. As you can see above, the 2026 Genesis GV70 Sport has the brand’s famous split headlights with microlens array elements, just like the bigger GV80. The GV70’s twin-spoke mesh grille also looks more complicated. The new bumper lets more air in and has a fake skid plate that stands out more. New 19- and 21-inch wheel styles and a Ceres Blue paint color are now available for the GV70. The 27-inch OLED screen above the dashboard is the most noticeable change inside. That’s where the infotainment system and digital gauge cluster are placed, and unlike many other layouts, they get along just fine. The center console of the GV70 has been completely redone, with better buttons and a new layout. It is easier to find the rotary gear selector and the rotary knob that handles the entertainment system if you touch them. Carbon-fiber trim is used all over the Sport trim (shown below), which also has orange highlights and contrast stitching. A new flat-bottomed steering wheel with more high-end controls is part of the interior changes. On the new dash, the HVAC vents are on the rectangular edge, and the wireless charge pad is in a bin in front of the center console. Even though they still have real knobs on the screen, the climate controls have been moved to the front of the center console. For the same reason, Genesis still has physical level and tuning knobs. They change different Beosonic settings to help you handle the optional 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. The GV70 Electric has a lot of the same improvements as the GV70 Gasoline. The distinctive grille is still there, but the charging port has been improved. It now opens and closes with an electric motor and has lights and a heated function for colder regions. The more common NACS connector has replaced the CCS-type connection in the port. Additionally, Genesis increases the EV GV70’s battery capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84.0 kWh. It still needs to be determined what the EPA-rated range will be, but it will be longer than the 236 miles predicted by the current model. The Genesis GV70 lineup also gets a number of new and improved features for 2026. The speech recognition software works better now, the passive enter system works on the back doors, and over-the-air updates are better. Remote parking can now be done in diagonal spots, lane-keeping assistance is said to work better than before, and a driver assistance tool that can tell when the driver’s hands are on the wheel has been added. Also, the GV70’s powertrains have remained the same. The gasoline versions come with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine and a 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine that makes 300 horsepower. The Electric GV70’s two motors should make the same 483 horsepower. Highway Body Motion Control is a new addition to the SUV’s adaptive suspension. It’s meant to help stabilize the back-and-forth feeling when stopping or speeding up. Genesis will say how much the GV70 cars cost before they go on sale in early 2019, but they still need to do that.
