At the New York car show on April 16, Subaru made two important announcements. The first is the 2026 Outback, a revamped edition of Subaru’s lifted wagon that also rivals mid-size SUVs. The second is a new electric SUV from Subaru called the 2026 Trailseeker. Subaru is going to show off two new cars at this year’s New York auto show: the improved 2026 Outback and the Trailseeker, a new electric SUV. The company must establish a solid presence. Along with the Solterra, the 2026 Trailseeker will be an electric car made by Subaru. Not only have we known for a while that a new Outback was being made, but this is the first time we’ve heard of a second EV type. Along with the news, teaser pictures of the two cars were made public. The first picture showed an Outback from 2026 that was doing a lot of damage to the land. This picture shows that the next model will have a shape that is even more straight and boxy than the current model, which was already getting too tall and SUV-like to be called a station wagon. We expect the 2019 Outback to have big changes to both the outside and the inside of the car. We’re not sure about the changes that will be made to the mechanics, but we do know that it will eventually have a hybrid engine. That’s for sure; there will be another Wilderness off-road model. The sample doesn’t show much; it only shows the Trailseeker’s bumper and taillight, along with a badge for the new name. This new SUV and the Solterra small SUV will have some basic things in common, even if they are different in size or style. The Subaru will likely do the same soon since the Toyota bZ4X, which is Solterra’s sister, recently got more powerful electric motors. There is no question that the Trailseeker will have all-wheel drive as standard equipment and will be able to go off-road to some extent, as its name suggests. Keep an eye out for more information about when these two new Subarus will be shown off on April 16 at 11:50 a.m. Eastern time. Subaru will soon unveil the 2026 Outback and the new Trailseeker EV.
