• The electric Jeep Renegade will return in 2027 and cost at least $25,000 to buy.
  • Jeep will also update all of its gas-powered cars and come out with a new version of the Compass.
  • In a note to investors today, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa confirmed what was said.

Jeep is bringing back the Renegade name in 2027, but only as an electric car. This is because the small SUV model will no longer be made after 2023. The 2027 Renegade EV will be very different from its gas-powered predecessor. The only things that will be the same are its name and model number. At a meeting with investors today, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa revealed that the Renegade would be coming back.

The 2027 Jeep Renegade EV will cost less than $25,000; that much is certain

Hybrid and gas-powered drivetrains are still options, but Filosa has only stated that the car will be electric. Jeep says the base price for the new Renegade will be less than $25,000. However, it needs to be clarified if that amount includes any possible tax breaks.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said today at the event that the business needs to make lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries to sell them in the US for $25.00. At the moment, neither Jeep nor its parent company, Stellantis, can make cheaper LFP batteries in the United States. Getting government tax credits could be difficult for production.

We are adding more Jeep products

Along with the release of the Renegade, Jeep will make more changes to its lineup over the next few years. The brand’s first electric car, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, will go on sale by the end of the year. Recons that are the same size as Wranglers will go on sale in the last few months of 2024. Filosa went on to say that a new version of the Compass would be available by the end of 2027. Next year, Jeep’s 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain could be added to the Compass’s base 200-hp turbo four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

The following year, two more products will be released. One Jeep will be built on the STLA Large platform, and another will be built on the STLA Medium platform. The Cherokee, which was just revealed to be coming back, is the best choice for someone with a medium-sized build. The 4xe versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer full-size SUVs could take the place of the Large model. During a meeting in May, Filosa talked about the powertrain combinations as “range-extender” settings. This made us think that they would have the same layout as the 2025 Ramcharger plug-in hybrid truck.

Jeep’s production graphics, which were shown to investors today, supported the production records that were made public last year. The images also show that the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Gladiator, and Wagoneer will have better models in 2027.
