• The German company B-ON, which DHL owns, will show off a new electric light commercial delivery truck at the 2024 CES (formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show) this week.
  • The new Pelikan delivery truck will come with either a 43.0-kWh or a 54.0-kWh battery when it goes on sale this year.
  • The new “smart dispenser” technology from B-ON will also help delivery trucks out in the field.

The recent rise of electric vehicles supports new feature ideas and creative thinking. B-ON, a German company that makes electric vehicles and is owned by DHL, will show off a new electric delivery truck and some new technology in the United States at this week’s 2024 CES in Las Vegas.

The B-ON Pelkan Electric Delivery Truck is a new way to send small items

The new car called the Pelkan, looks like a Tesla Semi that has been shrunk down and has a box truck connected to the cab. A company called B-ON calls the Pelkan a “long-range vehicle designed for urban last-mile delivery.” The company that makes the Pelkan also says that when it goes on sale later this year, it will come with both 44.0-kWh and 54.0-kWh batteries. However, we don’t have any data to support that claim. Rivian’s electric business delivery trucks, on the other hand, have batteries that hold more than 100.0 kWh and can go a little more than 150 miles.

Along with the Pelkan, B-ON is showing off a new “smart package dispenser” device. The technology lets the truck choose goods ahead of time while the drivers are on their regular trips. This way, the drivers can find the right packages without going back and forth. B-ON says that the smart dispenser will be an add-on that can be used with Pelikan or outside delivery cars. The price has yet to be said.
