• The Afeela 1 car will be on the market in 2026. The Origin trim costs $89,900, and the Signature trim costs $102,900.
  • The voice assistant and a driving support package will be included in a free three-year membership subscription that comes with both models.
  • The Afeela 1 will initially be exclusive to California, with the more affordable Origin trim not becoming available until 2027.

Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), a partnership between two Japanese companies, is almost ready to start making the Afeela electric car. At CES today, SHM discussed the sedan’s official model name and MSRP. The Afeela 1, as it will be called less creatively, will likely go on sale in mid-2026 and cost at least $89,900.

The Base Price For The 2026 Afeela 1 EV Will Be $89,900, Which Includes Membership Services For Features

The Afeela 1 will come in two different styles, called Origin and Signature. The Origin starts at $89,900, while the Signature costs an even more ridiculous $102,900. The Audi A8, the BMW 7-series, and the Genesis G90 can do that. The Signature has 21-inch wheels, a center video tracking system, and an entertainment system in the back. It costs $13,000 more. The Afeela 1 will come in three paint colors for the outside: Tidal Gray, Calm White, and Core Black. The inside will be gray or black.

Afeela Intelligent Drive is a Level 2+ driving assistance system with 40 sensors that comes with both trims as a free three-year subscription. It also comes with Afeela Personal Agent, a voice assistant that can handle in-car tasks and, supposedly, carry conversations. As a member, you also get 5G broadband internet, a variety of entertainment materials, and digital themes that you can change to fit your screens. After the three years are up, owners will have to pay a monthly fee to use these features. We’re unsure about the cost.

There aren’t many technical details out there yet, but we do know that the Afeela will have a charge port like the NACS, which will let owners connect to the Tesla Supercharging network. The 91.0-kWh lithium-ion battery in the Afeela is meant to give it a 300-mile electric range. An all-wheel-drive system will be powered by two 241-hp electric motors, one positioned on each axle. The car will be supported by air suspension.

At first, you will only be able to buy the Afeela in California. It will be assembled in Ohio. You can make SHM reservations online right now, with a $200 fee that you can get back. Those who have opted for the more affordable Origin trim will need to wait until 2027 for their Afeela, as only the Signature trim will be available in 2026.
