The Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur will all be getting new versions. With the Edition 8, we bid farewell to the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine in those three models. In its place, we introduce a groundbreaking hybrid V-8 design, a testament to our dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering. It looks like the Bentayga SUV will keep using the twin-turbo V-8 engine for a while longer. Just two days ago, Bentley showed off its new hybrid V-8 motor. It will replace the company’s long-running W-12 engine and make more than 740 horsepower. According to today’s “Edition 8” versions of the Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur sedan, Bentley’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, which can only run on gasoline, will no longer be offered in any of the company’s three models. For this limited edition, available exclusively in North America, Mulliner, Bentley’s renowned customization section, offers a plethora of choices. The Mulliner Extended Paint collection boasts over 60 colors, allowing buyers to truly personalize their Bentley. The exterior trim is elegantly blacked out, lending a touch of sophistication. The Edition 8 also features self-leveling center caps, 22-inch wheels with a choice of five or ten spokes, and a gas-filling cap that exudes luxury. Inside, Bentley Comfort Specification seats have been installed, and Mulliner has added Palm Fluting, a unique and complex design. The Edition 8 logo is sewn into the seatbacks, and there is contrast stitching all over. For the Continental GT and GTC, the Edition 8 mark is on the front fenders. On the Flying Spur, it’s on the D-pillar and the door sills. We are still determining how much more this special version will cost, but we expect it to go up a lot. The 2024 Continental GT starts at $245,425; the roadster costs $270,150; and the V-8-powered Flying Spur costs $218,050. Soon, Edition 8 cars will start being delivered. At least for now, the twin-turbo V-8 engine will stay in the Bentayga SUV, even though it won’t last for long. Bentley says that since 2012, when the 4.0-liter engine came out, they have made over 53,000 V-8 versions of the Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur.
