• This Revenson, one of only 20 sold, uniquely combines Lamborghini’s past and present.
  • This flagship Lamborghini set the stage for the Aventador by looking like a stealth fighter and having a powerful V-12 engine.
  • There are still six days left in the Bring a Trailer online auction, but bids have already exceeded seven figures.

The Lamborghini Revenson got much attention because it was based on the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. Based on the V-12-powered Mucilage LP640, it was a minimal edition with a flat-grey carbon-fiber body that made it look like a stealth fighter. The Revenson came out in 2007, and collectors bought all 20 of them before the general public saw them (one additional car was reserved for the Lamborghini museum). This Riverton is for sale on Bring a Trailer, a Hearst Autos magazine similar to Car and Driver. This gives anyone who didn’t buy one the first time a second chance.

You should know that it won’t be cheap. Bidding on this one-of-a-kind Lamborghini has reached $1.4 million with six days left. This is the first time a Lamborghini has been sold at an online auction for more than $1 million. On the other hand, an F-22 Raptor can cost up to $143 million. This is an incredible deal!

You’re right if you think the Revenson was much like the Aventador, which wasn’t even out yet. In many ways, it was a road-legal concept car that showed where the V-12 engines from Lamborghini should go.

It has a V-12 engine that is a little bigger than the one in the Mucilage. It is 6.5 liters and makes 641 horsepower at 8000 revolutions per minute. One of the last cars made was the first-generation Lamborghini V-12, designed by Giotto Bizzarinni and dated back to the company’s beginning.

The Revenson also destroyed any attempts at neo-retro nostalgia made by Lamborghini’s designers. A year before this sharp-edged car came out, the Miura concept from 2006 hinted that Lamborghini would look to its past for ideas. Customers and the general public liked the Revenson, so Lamborghini moved quickly to make a car with a crazier, more knife-edged look.

Lamborghini’s hybrid replacement for the Aventador, the Rivulet, which was just shown off, shows how the design will change. The limited-edition Sian, like the Revenson, inspired the Rivulets.

With only 457 miles on the clock, this car is more of a work of art than a car. It’s the fifth of the 20 vehicles, and it’s been driven rarely but well. It still has the military-style bag that came with it when it was first given to the clients.

Since only 20 Retentions left, plus 15 roadster versions that came after, getting one is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Even if the next owner puts a few more miles on it, this combustion-powered, combat-aircraft-inspired vehicle will only increase in value as Lamborghini moves toward a more electric future. Use it to do something meaningful while you still can. Wednesday, April 12, is the last day of the auction.
