Cadillac has shown off two special Blackwing cars to mark its participation in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The statement was made during the current race session, which is not a coincidence.

The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition and CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Edition are truly one-of-a-kind. They boast Royal Blue brake calipers, gloss black mirror caps, blue-tinted Stormhawk carbon fiber parts, black badges, heritage number graphic inlays, and a striking Magnus Matte paint on the exterior. These distinctive features will also be proudly displayed on the side skirts.

The Blackwing Special Edition cars from Cadillac are a tribute to LeMans

You can choose between Jet Black or Cool Gray seats inside each car, and each one has a different race number sewn on it. Trim in Santorini Blue with Phantom Blue details will be used all over. A special 3D-printed medallion will sit on top of the shifters for manual transmission.

There will be a Cadillac Collector Series plaque on the B-pillar and heritage-numbered door sill plates on the Le Monstre and Petit Pataud special models. Two well-known companies are celebrating their 75th birthdays with these limited-edition Blackwings.

For the 1950 Circuit de la Sarthe loop, a pivotal moment in automotive history, Briggs Cunningham, Miles, and Sam Collier all piloted Cadillac Series 61 coupes. These iconic vehicles were the first American entrants at Le Mans since the war. They both drove the No. 3 “Petit Pataud,” while Cunningham and Phil Walters were at the helm of the No. 2 “Le Monstre.”

At that time, Le Mans let drivers change a stock chassis. That’s exactly what the Le Monstre team did: they made their racecar look like a soap bar in a wedge shape instead of a coupe. Even though it had a few small changes, the Petit Pataud still looked like a Series 61 car. After an accident early in the race that put Le Monstre in 35th place, he did an amazing job of coming back to finish 10th overall. Petit Pataud also finished 10th overall.

Blackwings, a truly exclusive homage to Le Mans, will start being crafted in early 2025. To commemorate the inaugural year of the Petit Pataud CT4-V Blackwing, a mere 50 will be meticulously handcrafted. To mark Le Mans’ 101st anniversary, a limited run of 101 CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Editions will be painstakingly assembled. This weekend, you can see the next wave of hypercars by watching Cadillac’s livestreams of the race on YouTube.
