• The Cadillac Escalade IQ, the most expensive SUV from the luxury company, is said to be coming out on August 9.
  • The Lyriq SUV and the Celestia car are Cadillac’s other “IQ” electric cars.
  • Even though no public information has been given, the Escalade IQ will use GM’s Ultium battery technology.

The most costly SUV from Cadillac will be electric and will be called the ELR. On August 9, Cadillac will release the Escalade IQ, the first electric vehicle (EV) version of its biggest SUV.

This month, Cadillac released a teaser picture that shows a close-up of the emblem on the electric model and confirms the title, which had been rumoured since GM registered the names Escalade IQ and Escalade IQL as trademarks in 2021. Today, the company also shared a second teaser picture of the front end of the new EV Escalade. Even though the image is dark, it shows how the lights on the car work. On its YouTube channel, Cadillac also posted a short film.

Also, we’re still waiting for more details about the Escalade IQ. At least one possible look is shown in the picture at the top of this piece.

Cadillac Vice President Rory Harvey said three new electric cars, including the Escalade IQ, would be on the market in 2023. The three new EVs, according to a Cadillac representative interviewed by Car & Driver, will all debut in the same model year. This makes it more likely that it will be a 2024 model.

Even though there aren’t many details, GM’s Ultium battery technology will be used in the 2024 Cadillac Escalade IQ. The GMC Hummer EV SUV has three electric motors producing at least 830 horsepower and a battery with a capacity of roughly 177 kWh, so we can expect similar specifications from the Caddy. It will, of course, weigh a lot more than four tons. All that and more should be easy to learn in less than a month.
