Please sit down and put on your reading glasses because it’s time to look at some pictures of this 1994 Mazda RX-7 and remember how JDM cars looked in the 1990s. Yes, the passenger door is damaged. Yes, the paint looks like a sandblaster just took it off. On the bright side, Mazda’s famous Montego Blue was used to finish painting the rest of the body, which looks great.

In the 29 years it has been around, the 1.3-liter Wankel rotary engine has only gone 34,000 kilometers. A five-speed manual gearbox would have sent 255 horsepower to the rear wheels if left alone. The RX-7 may have had a Borla cat-back exhaust, a Pettit Racing intercooler, and an aftermarket air intake and exhaust downpipe added by a previous owner. These changes likely increased the decibel level of the engine’s roar and gave the rotor a few extra horsepower to make it move faster.

Falken FK452 tires with front sizes of 235/40 and back sizes of 265/40 are placed on a set of silver Enkei RS-Evolution multi-piece wheels that are 17 inches in diameter. Before its current owner brought it to Pennsylvania in 2009, the car is said to have spent much of its life in warm places.

The blue exterior looks much better, and the brown leather seats and floor mats with the RX-7 logo go well. In the trunk, you can find aftermarket parts like an Alpine music system with amplifiers, a subwoofer, and a Viper radar detector to get people’s attention away from you.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel surrounds the 8000-rpm tachometer and the 180-mph speedometer. A previous owner added the boost gauge on the A-pillar.

The seller says the clutch throw-out gear may soon need to be changed. The maker recalled the brake vacuum hose in September 1996. Still, the rest of the Carfax database, which includes entries from Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania up until the most recent one in August 2017, claims to show no accidents or other damage.

Even though I wanted an FD RX-7 before I could drive, I’ll look at these pictures for now. The sale on Bring a Trailer, part of Hearst Autos like Car and Driver, will end on Sunday, April 30. At the time this article was written, the price was $10,750.
