When it came out, the Bugatti Veyron stood out because of its powerful X16 engine, which had four turbochargers and made an astonishing 1,000 horsepower. With such a big engine, it only took 2.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. You can get the same time by making your Tesla Model 3 into a deathtrap. Chris Steinbacher of the YouTube account B is for Build wanted to test the speed of a Tesla Model 3 Performance, according to CarScoops. Steinbacher chose to make this happen by removing as much weight as possible from the electric car. The simple fact is that a lighter car moves faster with the same amount of power. So, removing things like passenger seats, carpets, and a roof that isn’t needed can significantly improve a car’s performance. Of course, making a Tesla faster for drag racing is not new. It has already been done. On the other hand, Steinbacher’s idea stands out because he is more willing to take chances than most. He started by taking off all the parts of a Tesla with a salvage title that could be taken off with a socket wrench. This included the doors, trunk, and trunk. Then, to save weight, all of the glass was taken away. As the last step could not be undone, he used power tools to cut away big pieces of the Model 3’s skin. It’s dangerous work, and Steinbacher has to be careful around the orange high-voltage lines and the airbags around the chassis. Ultimately, they made a Model 3 that is mostly just a shell but has some great numbers. Before Steinbacher did the “mods,” the car went from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. After the hack, the stripped-down vehicle did the same thing in only 2.46 seconds. That’s about the same as a Bugatti Veyron and close to a Chiron. The movie doesn’t say how much weight was taken off of the Model 3. We still assume a 30% drop because almost the whole inside has been torn down, along with the roof and doors. The hurt Model 3 won’t live for very long. Cutting off the roof weakens the chassis, a problem in a car with this much torque. It’s also risky to drive because only one person in the car wouldn’t be safe in a crash. On the other hand, Steinbacher still goes to make people laugh. As is usual for these kinds of things these days, the clip shows a trip through a nearby drive-through. Projects like this show how important it is to lose weight in a big way. Of course, going too far could make it hard to drive on the road and at the best race tracks. Keep this in mind before you use a power saw on your motorbike.
