The Porsche fan group is already groaning about Everatti’s newest electric 911 replica. But because it is based on a limited-edition G-series Porsche 911 ST from 1970, it is probably the only electric 911 conversion that Porsche enthusiasts would like. The first Porsche 911 ST was made as a homologation race car, and only a few were made. It had wider front and back wheel tracks, bigger wheel openings, and a curb weight of less than 2,120 pounds. It could be bought with either a 2.0-liter or 2.4-liter engine. In the same way, Everatti worked with RS Werks in Pennsylvania, which specializes in restoring Porsches, in making the electric copy look and feel as much like the original ST as possible. Everatti hasn’t said the vehicle’s curb weight, but since it’s an electric vehicle with big batteries, it’s likely to be a little heavier than the original vehicle. Through a limited-slip differential, electric motors with 440 horsepower are said to power the back wheels of the new Everatti 911 ST. Everatti says that it can reach 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds and that its 62 kWh battery pack gives it a range of more than 200 miles. It has an adjustable suspension, optional air conditioning, power steering, and Apple CarPlay, and it allows both AC and DC charging, so you can set it at home or a public fast charger. Since the re-creation by Everatti has the same characteristics as the original, including wide frames, deep-dish rear wheels, a split front lip spoiler, hood vents, and hood straps, it satisfies the description. We’ll have to wait and see how it drives and if it can keep the spirit of the original 911 ST. As with all electric 911 changes, it’s hard to make an electric 911 that has the same charm as the original 911. It’s hard to think what it would be like to drive a classic Porsche 911 without the flat-six engines that rev up quickly and buzz. Even so, I think even the biggest fans of 911 would be interested in giving this one a shot.
