• The EPA says the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck can go up to 450 miles on a single charge.
  • Chevy thought the Work Truck (WT) could go 400 miles on a single charge, but the EPA has now confirmed a range of 450 miles.
  • The first commercial Silverado EV WT has 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft.

A Chevy spokesman said that the previous estimate of the Silverado EV Work Truck’s range, which was 400 miles, was just an estimate. The new range of 450 miles is the result of EPA certification.

At the very least, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV for corporate use can go farther on a single charge than planned. Chevy says the EPA says the base Work Truck model has a range of 450 miles.

Chevy said that the Silverado EV Work Truck (WT) would have a range of 400 miles. But the EPA has confirmed that 450 miles per charge are a better guess. The RST version, which is more stylish and faster, still has an estimated range of 400 miles. An RST battery pack is expected. Big as 200 kWh, while the WT is expected to have a bigger battery pack that gives it more range.

When Car and Driver asked a Chevy representative about the WT’s longer-than-expected range, they would only say that the higher number is based on the EPA’s certification and “real-world testing and development over the past several months.”

This summer, fleet buyers can buy the Silverado EV WT. It has a dual-motor engine with all-wheel drive, making 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. Chevy claims the WT for businesses can add 100 miles in 10 minutes with 350 kW DC fast-charging. After the first launch, the company hopes to make a WT model for fleets that can pull up to 20,000 pounds.

The price of the 2024 Silverado EV Work Truck, made for fleets, has yet to be set. The WT starts at $41,595, but you can place an order on Chevy’s customer website with a $100 deposit that you can get back.
