• This is the first look at the new Mini Cooper Hardtop, which will be sold in the United States starting with the 2025 model year.
  • The usual square taillights have been changed with triangle-shaped LED ones, but the design still has distinctive Mini features.
  • In 2025, the Cooper car will be available with gas and electric engines. The electric machine is being made with the help of China’s Great Wall Motor.

Mini has shared the first official pictures of the next-generation Cooper hatchback, which will be sold in the U.S. in 2025. The company first hinted at the new Cooper in 2021 when it showed a prototype in disguise and said that the famous city car would be offered with both a gas-powered engine and an electric motor.

The pictures show that the car looks slimmer, with round headlights that blend into the body and a more prominent octagonal grille that makes the car look lower. Mini, on the other hand, isn’t telling anyone anything. The grille is mainly covered, except for a slight cooling hole at the bottom and a thin black strip that looks like it hides sensors at the top. The Mini face can still be seen, though.

The Cooper’s hood has lines that go somewhere, and this “S” version has beautiful wheels with geometric shapes. The most obvious change is that the square taillights have been replaced by triangular ones with LEDs that look like the Union Jack flag but are more complicated.

We’re shocked that the Cooper has taken this long to be shown off since the design seems to be the same as those found in China in late 2021. This Cooper is an electric car because it has a small hole in the hood, green “S” logos, and no clear exhaust pipe. (EV).

The gas-powered Mini will be made in Oxford, England, on an improved version of the current platform. On the other hand, the electric Mini will be made in China on a platform created with Great Wall Motor. The internal combustion version will use the current model’s 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine and the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Soon, the people should be able to learn more about who will replace Cooper.
