Fans of the legendary Nissan Z sports car have been expecting to see the brand-new 2024 Nissan Z Nismo for the first time. The Japanese car company posted a 45-second teaser video of the jacked-up Z burning a lot of rubber on Thursday morning. As soon as the new Z came out in 2021, people started talking about the hotter brother of the sports car. As it usually does with these cars, Nissan kept everything secret so that it could focus on the newest one. But as the Z moved into its new product cycle, more information about the coming Nismo came out. First, Nissan made a more powerful Nismo tune for cars only sold in Japan. Then, they made a race car for the Super Taikyu series. Test mules were seen in Arizona early this year. Nissan’s Thursday teaser didn’t show anything about the future Z Nismo, which was disappointing. From what we can see, it has new (probably bigger) wheels and brakes, sticky Dunlop Sport Maxx tires, more angular front and back fascias with Nismo branding and a red line theme all over. The most apparent changes to the interior of this model are the Recaro performance bucket seats and the new steering wheel with a red line down the middle. In the video, the car is being driven by three-time Formula Drift winner Chris Forsberg through what looks like Nissan’s Arizona proving grounds. Forsberg is good at getting cars going fast and very sideways.
