HT Auto reports that Tata Motors shops are taking unofficial pre-orders for the Punch CNG. Customers must spend $21,000 to reserve parking. The Punch CNG automobile debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo and may feature twin-cylinder technology.

The insider says cars appear in showrooms even though reservations have yet to be made. By this month, the Tata Punch CNG will be available.

Tata’s first CNG SUV is the Punch. The Altroz twin-cylinder engine will power this tiny SUV. The innovative twin-cylinder setup inserts two 30-litre CNG tanks beneath the trunk, whereas the gasoline version would have a spare wheel. Thus, the extra wheel will go under the car.

The Punch CNG model can also transport a lot of cargo. It will be sold in ways comparable to gasoline. Projector headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, a 7-inch tablet infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automated climate control, six airbags, anti lock brakes, and other luxuries may be standard.

The car will use a smaller version of the Altroz’s 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. With a 5-speed manual, this engine produces 76 HP and 97 Nm in the CNG model. As the commencement date approaches, cost and fuel use will be revealed. CNG will cost $50,000–$60,000 more than conventional fuels.

The Tata Punch CNG, released before Christmas, will compete with the Hyundai Exeter CNG, released recently. It will outperform the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
