Later this year, there will be a new Forza Motorsport game, which will likely be the last one for Xbox. This week, Engadget reported that series general manager Dan Greenawalt said at a conference after the Xbox Showcase, “Basically, we’re not planning a distinct sequel at all.” The creators of Forza are not giving up on the game, despite what most people think. Instead, the series is becoming a “service game” updated often to fit Microsoft’s Game Pass membership model. In effect, the company wants gamers to use their Game Pass membership to play Forza Motorsport forever instead of buying a new game every few years and paying $70. This would also explain why the title doesn’t have a number. This is just Forza Motorsport; it is not Forza Motorsport 8. The last Motorsport game came out six years ago, and the new one is being advertised as a fresh start for the series. In a movie for the single-player career mode, the game’s creative director, Chris Esaki, talks about how the Builders Cup would make players “fall in love with cars.” Players are more likely to win these events if they customise their cars to fit a specific type of car or part of the car culture. In the future, Builders Cup events will have more tracks and vehicles that can be downloaded. Regarding technical progress, each track in this game will have full, changing weather and time of day. The game now has updated car sounds, a new physics model for tires, and recent suspension, weight, and aerodynamics calculations. It also runs in 4K at 60 frames per second on the Xbox Series X. When it comes out; it will have over 500 vehicles and 20 tracks.
